Orange yellow to yellowish brown liquid or powder, with peculiar odour; insoluble in water, weak smell of hay, soluble in ethanol, ethylene oxide, oil, etc. Oil solution is yellow, without influence by pH value, showing good heat and light resistance.

Extracted from marigold particles by the process of hexane extraction at room temperature, desolvation, and concentration.   

Used in beverages, cakes, fatty food, etc.
