Curcumin

Curcumin is a natural pigment which is extracted from dried turmeric rhizomes after ethanol extraction, desolvation, concentration, purification, and drying. It’s a kind of crystalline powder of orange yellow, with specific smell of turmeric, insoluble in water, soluble in ethylalcohol, propylene glycol, and glacial acetic acid; the color is pale yellow in acidic conditions, and reddish brown in alkaline conditions; good in heat resistance and light fastness, strong in dyeing, and be stable against metal ion except iron ion.
